Quick Device Setup Guide
Doublecheck your Sentinel
The MicroSD card is inserted inside

You can doublecheck the contents of the microSD card with any standard card reader.
Batteries are inserted (and secured with a strap)

Sentinel can take anywhere from 2-7 batteries - for deployment we recommend to stack your Sentinel with all 7 batteries. You might have received a charger with your Sentinel. If you're unsure about how to charge batteries for your Sentinel please reach out to sentinel-support@conservationxlabs.org
Ensure all batteries are fully charged when you deploy your Sentinel. If some batteries are not fully charged it may cause issues with your device.
No internal cables are loose

Switches on!
Note, this is just quick test to ensure the Sentinel is powered by the batteries. You can ignore the colors/meanings of the LED lights for now. The on-off switch is just above the LED lights.

You can switch the Sentinel back off after this short test.
Has a mounted antenna

We recommend that you unmount antennas when transporting the Sentinel
Has a mounted Spypoint cable
Connect the microUSB end of the Spypoint cable to the matching port on the Sentinel.
Turn the plastic cap around the microsUSB to create a waterproof connection
Due to the rubber ring inside the plastic cap you might have to apply some force when turning the plastic cap in order to create a stable, waterproof connection

Proceed to the SENTINEL SETUP AND DEPLOYMENT SECTION to actually deploy your Sentinel.
