Loading Custom Reconynx Firmware
To install the firmware, unzip the attached file and copy the "HF2CAM.fw1" file to an SD card. Then, insert the card and power on your Reconyx camera (HF2X, HP2X, or HS2X). You will know the update was successful because the camera will now say "CXL SENTINEL" shortly after boot.
You can revert the camera to the base Reconyx firmware at any time by instead downloading and installing the firmware from here: https://www.reconyx.com/page/firmware
Once the firmware has been updated, make sure the camera is in LOOP RECORD mode. This setting is necessary for proper operation with Sentinel. You can set this by navigating through the camera menu to CHANGE SETUP >> OTHER >> LOOP RECORDING >> ON.
